MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP- Paul Street, 80, of Emigsville, peacefully went to be with the Lord, with his family be his side on Friday, February 2, 2007 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ida L. (Laird) Street. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on January 1st. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military Honors by York County Veteran's Honor Guard. Mr. Street was born in Buladean, North Carolina on October 29, 1926, a son of the late Caroline (Street) Baird and a step son of the late James Baird. He was employed by Harrisburg State Hospital, worked for Lyon Metals for over 30 years, York Corrugating, was a Security Guard for the York Welfare Office on North Duke Street, and most recently worked as a Greeter at West York Wal Mart. He was a member of Mt. Wolf V.F.W. Post 2493 and was an avid NASCAR Fan and NY Yankee Fan. He was a member of Rohler's Lutheran Church and served in the US Army in the Pacific Campaign during WWII. Mr. Street leaves two daughters: Judith A. Pepo of York and her husband Jack and Linda S. Street of York, two grandchildren: Timothy Pepo of Lancaster and his wife Gina and Randy Pepo of Dallastown and his wife Heather, and six great grandsons: Timothy, Jr., Chandler, Jaden, Tyler, Hunter, and Aaron, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to Rohler's Lutheran Church, 791 Rohler's Church Rd., Dover, PA 17315 or VA Medical Center, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 17042.
