Paul Richard Armstrong, Sr.

YORK - Paul R. Armstrong, Sr., 92, died Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Pleasant Acers Nursing Home. A private graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the request of the family. Full military honors will be presented by the Lebanon VFW Honor Guard.Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc, 1551 Kenneth Road, York,is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Armstrong was born January 10, 1916 in Lancaster, a son of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Berkhiemer) Armstrong. He previously worked for Noonan Construction and Reindollar Construction Co. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII; a life member of Mt. Wolf VFW Post 2493, Pleasureville American Legion Post 799, the Hawk's Gunning Club of York, the Viking Athletic Association of W. York, and the Thirteenth Ward Club of York. Mr. Armstrong is survived by a daughter, Cynthia A. Billingsley and husband Jack F. of Fl.; three grandchildren, Jenny and Christopher Armstrong of Ga., and Jason J. Test of Fl.; five great grandchildren; and a daughter in law, Sandra Armstrong of Ga. He also leaves two beloved friends, Edward and Kathleen Colross of York. He was preceded by a son Paul R. Armstrong, Jr.
