RED LION-Paul Ralph Swords, 94, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Anna M. (Lecrone) Swords. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9-10 a.m. Certified Celebrant Kasie Watkins will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Freysville Union Cemetery with full military honors by Dallastown American Legion. Mr. Swords was born in Sunnyside on August 17, 1921, the son of the late Jay Edward and Elizabeth (Rosh) Swords. He retired from York International. Mr. Swords was a member of Dallastown American Legion. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, especially turtle fishing and was a member of Union Hunting Camp. He served in the US Army in WWII. Mr. Swords leaves a daughter, Darlene R. Gladfelter and her husband Mark of Red Lion; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Madeline Horn of Spring Grove, and a son-in-law, Bradley Knisely of Red Lion. A daughter, Janet M. Knisely, and a brother, and two sisters preceded him in death.
