YORK- Paul R. Miller, 82, entered into rest on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of Karen R. (Klahold) Miller. The couple celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on September 16, 2010. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at York County Racing Club, 4255 North Susquehanna Trail in York with a time of gathering, with the family to follow. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Paul was born in York on January 5, 1929, a son of the late Paul I. and Elizabeth (Stambaugh) Miller. He retired from the former Cole Steel and then worked for Rabbit Transit. He loved to travel, spend time with his family, and attend any form of racing. He was the President of York County Racing Club for the past 32 years, a member of the York County Racing Club Hall of Fame, Susquehanna Speedway Hall of Fame, and was a life member of both, Eastern Museum of Motor Racing/Williams Grove Old Timer’s, and Area Racing Club of Hagerstown. In addition to his wife, Paul leaves two sons, Dennis Miller, Sr. of Hawaii and Brian Miller of Hanover; two daughters, Deborah Ritter and her husband Bentz of York and Bethanne Lucabaugh of York; a step son, Todd Bender and his wife Laurie of York; ten grandchildren, Dennis Miller, Jr., Kirstie, Brandon, Daniel, Tiffany and Kurt Miller, Kristin Garber, Jade Gindlesperger, and Lindsey and Daniel Beck; five great grandchildren; a great, great grandson; a sister, Shelby Wendt and her husband Truman, and a brother, Tracy Miller and his wife Bonnie. He was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Miller. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York County Racing Club, Injured Drivers Fund, 568 S. Yale Street, York, PA 17403. The family would like to thank the staff of the Critical Care Unit at Memorial Hospital.
