RENOVO - Paul J. Fantaskey,III, 66, passed away Thursday, August, 28, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Renovo on September 10, 1947 a son of the late Paul J. Fantaskey, Jr. and Genevieve (Crossley). Paul was married to the former Sharon A. Gentzyel on July 17, 1970; they celebrated 44 years of marriage together. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War from 1965- 1967. Paul was a former police officer and was the owner/operator of several businesses in Renovo for the past 45 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served on the hospital board at Bucktail Medical Center. He was a member of the Western Clinton County Municipal Authority. He was currently serving as president of Renovo Council. He was a member of the American Legion and was a former Civil Defense Director. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Hawn (Paula Dake) Fantaskey of North Bend, and Travis (Brenda) Fantaskey of Renovo, and one daughter Tina Fantaskey of Renovo. Also 8 grandchildren Robert, Chelsie, Dawson, Ryan, Nick, Kyle, Maria and Makenzi, and 4 great-grandchildren. One brother, Kenny (Marlene) Fantaskey of Coudersport, and a sister Pauline (Gene) McCauley of Lock Haven. Also, a special Uncle George Fantaskey of S. Renovo. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford, and two grandsons, Tony Getz and Joey Grey. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., with Father David J. Arseneault officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner. Memorial Contributions can be made in his memory to Bucktail Medical Center, 1001 Pine Street, S. Renovo, PA 1764 or St. Joseph Catholic Improvement fund.
