Paul F. Dipangrazio

Paul F. DiPangrazio, 81, of Red Lion, passed away peacefully Monday, May 15, 2017. He was born March 22, 1936 in Clifton Heights, PA, the son of the late Fiorindo and Antonietta (DiDonato) DiPangrazio. Paul graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in education and received his Masters degree from Temple University. He played football while at LVC. Paul married Madeline Lehman in 1957 and set down roots in Palmyra. He taught history and coached football at Palmyra High School and Henry Houck Junior High, Lebanon School District. Paul became the principal of Red Lion Junior High School in 1967 and continued as principal through the transition to the middle schools. He was dedicated to his school and the students and held strong to his beliefs in the power and importance of education. He was passionately committed to his work - 10 years as a teacher and 28 years as an administrator - retiring in 1996. Paul loved to golf, whether a round after work or most days of the summer and throughout retirement. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and traveling with Madeline around the country and to Europe. Paul took pride in staying in great shape and could often be seen "on a walk around Freysville". After retirement, Paul became a vintner of sorts, home brewing his locally famous "Paul's Hard Apple Cider", again, with a drive for excellence. Whatever his job or his hobbies, Paul's focus was always on his family. He was an incredible man - a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend - whose love and friendship were gifts. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Madeline (Lehman); children, Sharon (Tom) Austin of Dallastown, Linda (Jon) Seitz of York, Pamela (Mike) VanTreeck of Batavia, IL and Steven (Megan) of Hollidaysburg, PA; grandchildren, Michael (Sydney), Katie (Kurt) and Becca Austin, Erica (Mark) Newman, Allyson Seitz, Andrew, Kelly and Claire VanTreeck, and Olivia, Ian and Hannah DiPangrazio; great granddaughter, Ellis Austin; sister, Betty (Joe) McGee of Rydell Park, PA; and many dear nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Anthony, Dominick and Julio.
