YORK- Paul E. Horner, 87, died Wednesday, May 19, 2009 at Brunswick at Longstown. He was the loving husband of Anna Margaret "Margie" Horner. The couple would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 21st. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday May 26, 2009 at Mt. Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt. Rose Ave. York, PA 17403. Bishop Barry Yingling will officiate. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Horner was born July 21, 1921 in York, a son of the late George and Edna (Doll) Horner. He worked as a York City bus driver for 21 years. He also drove truck for numerous years. Mr. Horner was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. Paul served our country for the U.S. Army during WWII. He belonged to AARP #1578, VFW Post 8951, American Legion Post 0791, Viking AA, Lincoln Fire Co., and Thomasville Senior Citizens. He was also an avid camper. Along with his wife, Mr. Horner is survived by a son, Ronald L. Horner and his wife Linda of York; a daughter Diane M. Beegle and her husband Michael of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren, Tracey, Todd, and Anne; three step grandchildren, Monica, Christian, and Adrian; five step great grandchildren, Mitchel, Amber, Paige, Nicco, and Marcellas; a sister, Jane Hoover and her husband Roger of York; and several nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Horner, Clyde Horner, and Clarence Horner; and two sisters, Ruth Beaverson and Dorothy Moore.
