Paul E. Smith, Sr.

COGAN STATION - Paul E. Smith, Sr., 82, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at his residence near Smitty’s Garage in Cogan Station. He was born in South Williamsport on August 23, 1932 and was the son of the late William H. and Clara May (Crain) Smith. Paul married the late Urnava (Digan) Smith in 1961 and spent many years together. He worked for Centre Concrete of Montoursville for 44 years and retired in 1995. Paul loved being outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, gardening, cooking, baking, canning and being with his dogs. Paul is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law; Michael A. Smith of South Williamsport and Mark E. and Annette Smith of Cogan Station, one daughter and son-in-law; Dr. Joy E. Proctor and Marshall Childs of Montgomery, two step-sons; Barry and Laura Nuefer of Williamsport and Allen and Brenda Nuefer of Linden, one step-daughter; Sylvia and Rick Klopp of Linden, 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was preceded in death by one son; Paul E. Smith, Jr., six brothers and two sisters. A public viewing will be held, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Allen And Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira Street, Williamsport followed by the funeral at 1:00p.m. with the Reverend Mark Mahserjian-Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
