WILLIAMSPORT - Paul E. Hubbard, 80, died on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Williamsport Hospital. Paul was born on February 18, 1929 in Hillsgrove and was the son of the late Clyde and Josephine I. (Smith) Hubbard. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. On April 16, 1951 he married the former Joan M. (Eberling) who survives and have spent 58 years as husband and wife. Paul had retired from PennDot in 1990 after 20 years service. He attended the Christian Church, Cogan Station. Paul was a member of the John F. Laedlein Lodge 707/F &AM, VFW and the Lycoming County Korean War Veterans. He was a former member of the A.A.S.R./ Valley of Williamsport and was the past Monarch in 1982 for Zafar Grotto. He enjoyed camping, playing cards and vacationing in Florida. In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; Roger N. and Penny Hubbard of Duboistown, David L. and Ellie Hubbard of Williamsport and Paul J. Hubbard of Williamsport, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother and sister-in-law; Floyd and Willie Webster of Cogan Station and one sister; June M. Puterbaugh of Bodines. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son; Glenn L. Hubbard and two step sisters; Dorothy Moore and Esther Allen. There will be a public viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with a Masonic Service to begin at 7:30 p.m. Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery with Pastor Jeff Steppe officiating. There will be a Remembrance Celebration at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Zafar Grotto. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zafar Grotto Enchanted Lantern Fund, 381 E. Second Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701.
