Paul E. Godfrey

SEVEN VALLEYS- Paul E. Godfrey, 84, of Seven Valleys, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his residence in Seven Valleys. He was the husband of Janice L. (Nell) Godfrey. The couple would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in April, 2017. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, 9002 Orchard Road, in Spring Grove, with a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Elder Ray Mummert and Elder James Hoover will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. An additional time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Friedensaal Church, Hall of Hope, 9138 White Church Road, in Seven Valleys. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Paul was born in Springfield Twp. on March 6, 1932, the son of the late Paul E, Sr. and Anna M. (Keeny) Godfrey. Paul was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, in Spring Grove. After 27 years, Paul retired from the DF Stauffer Biscuit Company and was also a lifelong farmer. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family. In addition to his beloved wife, Paul is survived by three sons, Lynn Godfrey and wife Tammie, Chip Godfrey and wife Pauline, and Clay Godfrey and wife Denise; one daughter, Dawn Newcomer and husband Carl; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and sister, Eva Waltemyer and husband Gene.
