Red Lion — Paul L. Wilson, 73, died Monday, October 14, 2013 at his residence in Red Lion Borough. He was the husband of the late Electa M. (Keeports) Wilson. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Red Lion Cemetery with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born June 22, 1940 in Seymour, IN, he was a son of the late Charley C. and Alice M. (Baker) Wilson. He was honorably discharge from the United States Navy in 1977 as a Chief Petty Officer after serving his country for 22 ½ years and during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Senior Disbursing Officer, in charge of maintaining pay records and was also responsible for computing the financial reports for all ships and shore bases. An active and vital life member of the Izaak Walton League-York Chapter and York County Conservation District, he spearheaded many causes within these two organizations including the Envirothon in York and to honor his 20 years of commitment and dedication the YCCD awarded him the title of Director Emeritus. He was an avid hunter of a variety of animals and birds, loved spending time with family at his cabin in Pine Grove Furnace, loved his dogs and was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons. Mr. Wilson is survived by one sister, Norma L. Prewitt of Seymour, IN; one brother, Charles Wilson, Jr., of Harrisburg, IL and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, LaDonna J. Wilson, Carolyn S. DeCamp and Delores J. Spurgeon and one brother, Larry R. Wilson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Izaak Walton League of America, INC., 7131 Ironstone Hill Rd, Dallastown, PA 17313.
