RED LION -Paul C. Valet, 84, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of Loretta E. (Shirey) Valet to whom he was married 51 years on October 25th. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with his pastor, the Rev. Jonathan L. Bausman officiating. A viewing will be held 1-2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery with a flag folding provided for by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Valet was born October 25, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Paul C. and Amelia (Stuz) Valet. He was a former employee of General Electric, Philadelphia for 19 years until his retirement. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, York. Mr. Valet was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving his country during WWII. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Penn State and Navy Football fan. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife, her sister and brother-in-law, as well as going bowling and to the movies. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a very personable man who always said hello. In addition to his wife, Mr. Valet is survived by a brother-in-law, Leonard Y. Tarman; and several cousins in NJ, FL, and Germany. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York, PA 17403.
