Paul C. Stoudt, Sr.

POTTSVILLE- Paul C. Stoudt, Sr., 82, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday evening at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. Born in Pottsville on January 20, 1931, he was a son of the late Howard and Elizabeth Deibert Stoudt. Paul was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville High School, where he was an All State Offensive guard. Following high school he attended Fort Union Military Academy, Fort Union, VA where he played football. He then received a full football scholarship to play Georgia Tech University, until an injury ended his career. Paul joined the Army where he served in the infantry unit in Germany during the Korean War. Paul worked as a mail carrier for the Pottsville Post Office for 32 years prior to his retirement. Paul was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. He was a member of the Shriners, Masons, Tall Cedars and was a charter member of the Amvets, all of Pottsville. Paul loved his family and spent most of his time with his loving wife, Geraldine, his children, Paula and William, his three grandchildren and his two Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Morton Stoudt and his sister, Janet Ebling. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine “Gerry” M. Sullivan Stoudt, to whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 2, 2012; his daughter, Paula Marshall, wife of Brent, of Pottsville; his son, Paul C. Stoudt, Jr., husband of Lois, of Pottsville; his three grandchildren, David W. Stoudt, Ashley Trate and Beth Ann Stoudt; his two Great grandchildren, Madison M. and Aleah M. Trate; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday evening, February 22, at 7:00 P.M. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 2653 Woodglen Road, Pottsville, PA 17901. Elder Jared Querengasser will officiate. Family and friends may call from 5:00 P.M. until time of service at the Kingdom Hall, Pottsville. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
