YORK Paul C. “John” Olphin, 58, died at 2:59 a.m. Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Colonial Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of DeLonny L. (Dattisman) Olphin with whom he celebrated a 30th wedding anniversary on December 4, 2012. Following cremation, a memorial tribute will be 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Rev. Richard B. Starr officiating. A visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Mr. Olphin was born June 11, 1955, in West York. He was the son of the late Paul Edgar and Zella Mae (Hanna) Olphin. He had been a security guard with York Lutheran Social Services at Kelly Dr., and for many years prior, worked at his father’s Red Lion Body & Fender business. He also enjoyed the serenity of the outdoors, especially when fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Olphin leaves six sisters, Laura Slaybaugh, Tammy Martin, Judy Martin, Doris Mitzel, Shirley Jennings and Bonnie Kise. He also leaves nieces and nephews.
