Patrick T. McGann, Jr.

Patrick T. McGann, Jr., 82, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at York North Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born December 8, 1942 in Edgewood, Maryland; he was a son of the late Sarah G. (Purcell) and Patrick T. McGann, Sr. Following high school, Mr. McGann joined the US Army where he faithfully served for over 20 years. Retiring in 1977 as a Staff Sergeant; Mr. McGann served as a Green Beret, a Communication Specialist, and a Counselor. Following his military career, Patrick worked for United Insurance Company for six years. Mr. McGann loved playing and calling Bingo, was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, and enjoyed singing, listening,and dancing to country music. Patrick also fancied himself as a talented joke teller. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

Mr. McGann is survived by a sister, Paulette McGann of Brunswick, OH; and a brother, James "Jim" and wife Dixie McGann of Arnold, MD. 

Tribute serivces and burial in Crownsville Veteran Cemetery in Crownsville, MD will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Patrick can be made to your local Boys & Girls Clubs or SPCA.
