Patricia M. (Miller) Uhl

NEW OXFORD- Patricia M. (Miller) Uhl, 91, died on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Cross Keys Village – The Brethren Home Community. She was the wife of the late James B. Uhl who died on November 22, 2021. The couple had been married for 63 years. Tribute services will be private with burial in Paradise Holtzschwamm Union Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Chaplain Mary Kay Alpaugh will be the officiant. Born on March 17, 1931 in New Castle, Mrs. Uhl was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and A. Ruth (Melcher) Miller, Sr. She is survived by her son, Jonathan T. Uhl and his wife, Cordelia Ontiveros of La Habra, CA; two daughters, Katherine U. Keller and her husband, Joseph of Cary, NC and Martha U. Dudley and her husband, Taylor of Boulder, CO; two granddaughters, Laura Keller and Abigail Keller; and brother, Thomas E. Miller, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Grove City. Mrs. Uhl was a graduate of Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University and held a Master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University. During her college years she was a member of Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Sigma Kappa Sorority, Mortar Board, Phi Kappa Phi Honorary and Omicron Nu Honorary. She retired in 1990 as a data processing officer for York Bank & Trust Co. She previously held teaching positions with Spring Grove Area School District and Pittsburgh Public Schools and was Executive Director of York Day Nursery and Kindergarten. Mrs. Uhl was a member of The Faith Community of the Brethren Home, College Club of York County, American Association of University Women, and the York Area Association for the Education of Young Children.
