Patricia A. (Mckinley) Smeltzer

RED LION - Patricia A. (McKinley) Grove Ilgenfritz Smeltzer, 86, went home with the Lord Saturday, September 23, 2023 surrounded by family. She was the wife of the late Barry Smeltzer to whom she was married for six months.

Born in Rockey Hollow, Patricia was a daughter of the late Charles E. McKinley, Sr. and Elsie Jane (Wailes) McKinley.

Patricia was a 1955 graduate of Red Lion Senior High School. She attended Thompson's one-room Schoolhouse. In her working life, she worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground, York Tobacco/JC Winters and Barley Convalescent Home. For over 40 years she was self employed as a Fuller Brush sales woman. Mrs. Smeltzer was a member of Red Lion Zion Church, as well as a previous member of Emmanuel Christian Fellowship of York. In her youth she attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was an active children's leader in both churches, led a Single's ministry and followed The 700 Club. Pat loved writing, sending cards and singing Happy Birthday to those she adored. She kept active with puzzles, card games and watching and playing sports in her younger years. Above all else she was faith oriented and dedicated her life to the Lord.

Mrs. Smeltzer is survived by her five children; Sandra J. Kral, Bryan Grove and his wife Deb, Blaine Grove and his wife Jodi, Sherri Santana and her husband Tim and Shelley Grove. Her eight grandchildren include Dayne Grove and his fiancé Jessica Siani, Mitch Howell and his wife Courtney, Zachary Grove and his wife Stephanie, Garrett Grove and his wife Kate Martin, Lexie Grove and her boyfriend Iliyia Gutin, Adam Kral, Dan Kral and Jozie Young and her husband Nate; one great-grandchild, Logan Howell. Her three brothers, Charles E. McKinley, Jr. and his wife Thalia, Dale D. McKinley and his wife Charlotte and Ronald A. McKinley and his wife Nancy; many nieces and nephews, as well as good friends. Patricia is preceded in death by her husbands, Clair Grove, Wilson Ilgenfritz and Barry Smeltzer; and a sister Doris Posey and her husband Wilbur.

A viewing will be held Thursday September 28, 2023 from 6-8pm at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., in Red Lion. A graveside service and burial is Friday September 29, 2023 at 10am at Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Following this a Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held 11:30 am Friday September 29, 2023 at Red Lion Zion Church located at 1155 Felton Road, Red Lion, PA with Pastor Dave Kominsky officiating.
