Patricia A. (Everhart) Rife

NORTH YORK – Patricia A. (Everhart) Rife, 79, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at The Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of Ray G. Rife to whom she was married for 55 years on March 24, 2012. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2012 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 947 N. George Street, York with her pastor, The Rev. Beth Schlegel officiating, along with Rev. Carl Rife assisting with the tribute service. A visitation will be held from 9-11:00 AM Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born July 24, 1932 in York a daughter of the late John W. and Alverta M. (Rentzel) Everhart, she was a graduate of North York High School and York Junior College. Mrs. Rife was a lifelong member at St. Peter’s Church where she sang in the choir for 50 years. She was also a board member for York County Area Agency on Aging; very active with Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary; and York Women’s Club. Patricia loved knitting and spending time at the seashore. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, John E. Rife of Ashland, Mass., Randy G. and wife Debra Rife of Ware, Mass., and James W. and wife Nancy Rife of Huntingdon, PA; five grandsons; two step grandsons; and two step great grandsons.
