YORK – Pasquale M. “Pat” Laimo, 82, passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Caroline E. (Contreras) Laimo. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Wednesday with a Rosary Service at 8:45 PM and 9-10:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Born October 25, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY a son of the late Michael and Margherita Laimo, he had worked as a school bus driver in Brooklyn, managed a reclamation and excavation company for his brother-in-law, and retired from the US Postal Service. Pat had lived in the same home for 47 years in Brooklyn and enjoyed spending time at horse races and watching sports. He was proud to help coach baseball while his children were growing up and also played sandlot baseball for the Arrows in Brooklyn as a young man. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Mr. Laimo was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Laimo is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Laimo Peate and partner Norman Stollberg of York; a son, Robert Laimo of York; three grandchildren, Lauren Peate, Alyssa Laimo, and Salvatore Laimo; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Venera Greco.
