YORK - Pansy A. (Willwert) Ness, 93, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Rest Haven Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in York. She was the wife of the late Melvin L. Ness, to whom she was married for 26 years until his passing on July 30, 1980. She was the companion of the late Glen Smith with whom she spent 19 years until his passing on December 30, 2001. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Pastor Jay McWilliams officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, January 16 and from 9-10 AM on Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be in Pleasantview Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Born November 20, 1921 in Windsor, Pansy was a daughter of the late Edwill J. and Bertha E. (Herbst) Willwert. She worked as a supervisor at a sewing factory in Dallastown and for over 20 years at Dalco Industries until her retirement in 1980. Pansy was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She greatly enjoyed life and her dog Alex. She will be lovingly remembered for the excellent care she provided to many of her loved ones during their last days on earth. Mrs. Ness is survived by a son, Mack L. Ness of Red Lion; two granddaughters, Pamela J. Urey of Florida and Kimberly A. Krouse of Felton; three great granddaughters; several nieces and nephews, and many friends who were fond of her gentle ways. She will be dearly missed by her best friend, Kim Grammer, with whom she shared many happy memories. Along with her parents, husband and companion, Pansy was preceded in death by a son, Edwill G. Urey; two brothers, Truman Willwert and John Willwert, and an infant sister, Velma.
