P. Robert Bob" Wise

RED LION- P. Robert "Bob" Wise, 80, died Tuesday February 19, 2008 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of Norma K. (Sprenkle) Wise. A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with pastors, Rev. James VanZandt, Rev. Lyle S. Bundy, and Rev. Charles Sprenkle officiating. A visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Red Lion Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Dallastown American Legion. Bob was born April 16, 1927 in Windsor, a son of the late W. Frank and Irene (Brenneman) Wise. He served our country as a Corporal with the U.S. Marines during WWII and served on the USS Wyoming. Bob was employed with Trojan Yacht Company for over 25 years as a plant manager and was an independent contractor for Wise Electronic Systems. He was a life member of the Hawks Gunning Club in York and a member with Red Lion American Legion. Bob is an original, avid Baltimore Orioles fan and sport enthusiast. He attended all the school events of his grandchildren. Bob and Norma served on many committees at their church, Bethany United Methodist Church, Red Lion. In addition to Norma, Bob is survived by a daughter, Julie and her husband, Jeffrey Beard of Felton; granddaughters, Lauren Beard away at college and Hannah Beard at home in Felton; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his brothers, Charles, Thomas, and James; sisters, Anna and Hilda; and grandchildren, Kellan and Daniel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends memorialize Bob by either memorial contributions to the Helping Hands Fund, c/o Bethany United Methodist Church, 121 W. Broadway, Red Lion, PA 17356 or by taking a special friend out to lunch.
