Oscar S. Gouker

York Oscar S. Gouker, 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Harriet L. (Woodley) Gouker for over 31 years. A Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Mr. Gouker was born in Camden, NJ on June 3, 1925. He was the son of the late Oscar and Lulu (Brown) Gouker. Mr. Gouker retired in 1987 from the former Stone Container in York, after 37 ½ years of service. He served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne, and the United States Navy from 1946 to 1949. In addition to his wife Harriet, Oscar also leaves a son, Gary Gouker of CA, a daughter, Gale Chismell of MD, two step-daughters; Cathy A. Von Rossum and companion Jim Snow, both of York, and Lynda J. Elder and husband Thomas of York, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
