NEW COLUMBIA - Oliver T. "Ollie" Miller, 77, died on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Oliver was born on January 29, 1932 in Drifting and was the son of the late Oliver and Lorena (Hockenberry) Miller. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He was married to the former Judith A. "Judy" (Hassinger) for 37 years and who survives. He was a former employee of Chef Boyardee and retired in 1995. Ollie was a member of the Moose, Eagles, VFW and a 51 year member of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Judith, he is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law; Jerry L. and Judith Swank of Danville, Bradley T. and Maureen Miller of Sunbury, Timothy A. and Carole Swank of Milton, Douglass B. and Shirley Miller of Farmington, New Mexico and Mark A. and Dreama Swank of Odenton, MD, one daughter; Carla J. (Miller) Girard of Bastrop, TX, nine grandchildren; Sarah Sees, Nathan Linn, Lucas Swank, Tyler Swank, Jennifer Waltman, Jessica Zlockie, Lyle Dotson, Billie Ipes and Noni Wilburn, and six great grandchildren; Emily Waltman, Chloe Ipes, Daniel Ipes, Austin Wilburn, Courtney Wilburn and Dakota Wilburn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Duaine and Jack Miller and one sister; Pauline Sones. There will be a public viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2009 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 01, 2009 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton, PA 17847 where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The Reverend Timothy P. Dugan will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
