Oliver R. Smith

YORK- Oliver R. "Bud" Smith, 84, died on Monday, February 1, 2010 at Rest Haven. He was the loving husband of Charlotte "Maggie" M. (Eveler) Smith. The couple had celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on January 1st. A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2010 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner, 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Reverend Richard B. Starr officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Mr. Smith was born on December 12, 1925 in Middletown, a son of the late Clarence N. and Margaret M. (Flowers) Smith. Oliver retired in 1987 as a construction laborer from Laborers' Union Local #1167 Mr. Smith served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Along with his wife," Maggie", Oliver is survived by one daughter, Charlene Keener and her husband, Stephen L. of Lower Windsor; two brothers, John W. Smith II of Red Lion and Elwood Ray Smith and his wife, Monica of Red Lion; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Clarence N. "Sonny" Smith, Jr. and Dale D. Smith; and one sister, Dora Jean Smith.
