Olive E. (Cook) Brzezinski

DOVER, PA - Olive E. (Cook) Brzezinski, 87, formerly of Oil City, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in York, PA. She was the wife of the late Edward Brzezinski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 13, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 35 Pearl Avenue, Oil City with Rev. Justin P. Pino officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-9:00 PM Thursday at Morrison Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Petroleum Street, Oil City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Oil City. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of local arrangements. Born June 18, 1924 in Fairstead, Essex, England, a daughter of the late Frederick C. and Dorris M. (Parmentar) Cook, she had worked as a typist during WWII in England. After moving to America she had sold Avon and managed the cosmetic department at Jamesway Dept. Store. In her later years she was a caretaker for the elderly. Mrs. Brzezinski was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in both York and Oil City; a former member of Oil City YWCA; and enjoyed crossword puzzles, flower gardening, sewing, and knitting. Mrs. Brzezinski is survived by a daughter, Lorraine O. and husband Edward Petrus of New Castle, PA; three sons, Mark T. Brzezinski of York, Richard E. and wife Joanne Brzezinski of New Castle, and Raymond J. and wife Mary Brzezinski of Kane, PA; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Cook of Suffolk, England; and a sister, Jean Bax of Southampton, England.
