Olene E. (Smith) Smith

Olene E. (Smith) Smith, 91, died on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Pleasant Acres, with her daughter by her side. She was the wife of the late Preston B. Smith who died in 2000. The couple wed in 1947. Her family takes comfort in knowing she and Preston are reunited. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd., York with Chaplain Leon Via officiating. A funeral cortege will meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on July 4, 1927 in York, she was the daughter of the late Chauncy and Grace (Gohn) Smith. Olene was a homemaker. Mrs. Smith was an avid sports fan, especially of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. She also enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos with her friends and loved animals. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter, Beth Patton of York; granddaughter, Whitney Hedgepeth of New York, NY; and nieces, Brenda Kramer of Windsor and Judy Smith of York.
