O. William Bill" Goodwin

Spring Grove - O. William "Bill" Goodwin, 67, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the loving and devoted husband of Nadine K. (Stump) Goodwin to whom he was married for 45 years on February 20, 2010. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 50 School St., York with his pastor, The Rev. Carl F. Peterson and The Rev. Robert Wallace from Calvary United Methodist Church of York officiating. A visitation will take place from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at the Church. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born September 11, 1942 in Philadelphia, a son of the late William and Lillian (Lam) Goodwin, he was a 1961 graduate of Central York High School. He owned Goodwin Kitchen and Bath and had previously worked for Yorktowne Kitchens. Mr. Goodwin enjoyed the kitchen design business for more than 40 years. Bill was a classic car enthusiast. He loved all animals but had a special place in his heart for horses, dogs, and cats. Bill was also the biggest fan when it came to his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a Corporal in the Military Police. In addition to his wife, Mr. Goodwin is survived by a daughter, Kelly A. and husband William Metzger of Spring Grove; a son, Marc W. and wife Danelle Goodwin of York; and a sister, Nancy Campbell of York. He was a very special "Pap" to his six grandchildren, Lindsay, Katherine, Liam, and Lilly Metzger, and Ella and Trey Goodwin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein U.M.
