Norma (Ward) Brown

CORYLAND- Norma (Ward) Brown, 83, of Coryland, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. She was the loving wife of the late H. Corey Brown who passed away on November 18, 2008. The couple married on November 21, 1945 and had 62 happy years together. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Coryland Church, beyond the crossroads in Coryland, PA. The memorial service to honor Norma's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning at the church with Pastor Myra Goss officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Cemetery. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA has been entrusted with arrangements. Norma was born on October 1, 1926 in Columbia Cross Roads, PA, daughter of the late Clarence and Grace (Hagerman) Ward. She was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1944, where she was Salutatorian. Norma and Corey were long time farmers in Coryland, and in latter years, she and Corey spent much of their time helping maintain the Troy Fair grounds. She was a faithful member of the Coryland Church and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Norma is survived by her sons; Gary L. (Denise) Brown of Dover, DE, and Wendell C. Brown of Coryland, PA, her daughter Kathleen B. (Lawrence) Marynak of Cary, NC, her grandchildren; Christopher Brown, Amy (Brett) Marynak Merrick, Kristy Marynak, and great grandson Paul Lawrence Merrick, along with several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband Corey, sister Nona (Ward) Campbell, and brother Clifton Ward preceded Norma in death.
