Norma M. (Keener) Fager

Norma M. (Keener) Fager, 82, died Monday February 16, 2009 at her residence. She was the wife of Harry L. Fager, Jr., to whom she was married for 61 years on April 12. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, February 20, 2009 at Heidlersburg United Brethren in Christ Church, 2725 Heidlersburg Road, Gettysburg, PA, 17325, with Pastor Craig A. Loewen officiating. A visitation will be held from 12-1:00 PM, Friday at the church. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap VA National Cemetery at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Fager was born August 6, 1926 in Dallastown, a daughter of the late Robert Edward and Nellie Irene (Sauerwald) Keener. She was a 1944 graduate of Dallastown High School. Mrs. Fager worked at the daycare of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown for about 10 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Dallastown Legion Auxiliary Post #605, Dallastown Golden Age, and the Dallastown Chorus. She enjoyed reading, especially Danielle Steel novels, going to Navy conventions with her husband, and watching the Game Show Network. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fager is survived by a daughter, Pamela A. Green and husband Ben, Sr. of Gettysburg; four grandchildren, Mary Graham of Steelton, Amy Kerr and husband Mark of Centerville, VA., Ben Green, Jr. of Gettysburg, and Julie South and husband Don of Aspers; 8 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Doris Hess. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Adams County S.P.C.A., 11 Goldenville Rd., Gettysburg, PA, 17325.
