YORK – Norma Jean (Jones) Heiland, 83, died on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Gary E. Heiland. The couple wed on November 16, 1957. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Pastor Joe Fauth officiating. A visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service. Born on May 25, 1938, in Manchester Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Waltermyer) Jones. She was a 1957 graduate of Central York High School. Norma was a hostess at the former Howard Johnson’s in East York and later waitressed at the former Purple Cow at the York Mall before retiring from Hardee’s in Red Lion in 1995. Norma Jean was very much a people person and served as a caregiver for two individuals over the years. Spending time with her family was her favorite activity, she had a natural gift to make those around her feel as though they were her favorite. Along with her husband Gary, Norma Jean is survived by her three children, Sharon L. Good and her husband Richard, Brenda L. Hager and her husband Robert, and Gary E. Heiland, II and his wife Michelle; eight grandchildren, Christopher R. Good and his wife Janet, Michael D. Good and his wife Bethany, David A. Good and his wife Sara, Robert C. Hager, Cali E. Hager, Sarah J. Heiland, Andrew J. Heiland and Emily G. Heiland; eight great-grandchildren, Benjamin C. Z. Good, Samuel C. Good, Elizabeth N. Good, John R. Good, Jackson J. Good, Zoey J. Good, Rachel L. Good and Isla C.S. Good; sister Carol Lee Byer and her husband Gordy; brother-in-law George Cramer. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marlene Cramer.
