Norma Jean Hess

NORTH YORK – Norma Jean (Keesey) Hess, 83, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2019 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Howard D. Hess, Jr. Born July 27, 1935 in York a daughter of the late John and Blanche (Young) Keesey, she was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. Hess had worked at the former Allis-Chalmers and held numerous positions with North York Borough. Norma Jean had also served as the tax collector for North York Borough. She was a member of Liberty Social Club, Liberty Fire Company, and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Hess is survived by a nephew, Scott A. and wife Amy Garrett of Ponce Inlet, FL and a great niece, Ava Garrett. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Garrett. Tribute services will be announced at a later date. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
