Norma J. (Roseberry) Altland

York—Norma J. (Roseberry) Altland, 84, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Philip J. Altland to whom she was married for 59 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Monday, September 14, 2015 at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 N. Adams Street, York with her pastor, the Rev. Larry A. McConnell officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, Monday at the church. Burial will be held in Greenmount Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born February 25, 1931 in Glen Rock, she was the daughter of the late Kent Roseberry Sr., and Viola Roseberry. She was employed as an executive secretary with J. Alfred Hamme and Associates for 39 years until her retirement in 1995. A member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, she also enjoyed square dancing with her husband, spending time at their cabin in Pine Grove Furnace and taking trips to the beach. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Altland is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sylvia A. Wilson; a nephew, Daniel B. Wilson; close friends, Bill and Sue Breen and Jim and Jody Gyles and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dr. Philip Roseberry, Kent Roseberry Jr and Ronald and Donald Roseberry.
