Norma J. (Gingerich) Younker

York—Norma J. (Gingerich) Younker, 85, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert V. Younker to whom she was married for 41 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with her pastor, the Rev. Beth Schlegel officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born June 25, 1930 in York, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Rebecca (Hake) Gingerich. She was employed as a bookkeeper for several years with Gingerich’s Mensware. A member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in York, she was also a member of the York Christian Women's Club, North York Married Women’s Club, and she enjoyed flower gardening and needle point. Mrs. Younker is survived by one son, Mark R. Younker and his wife, Beth of York; one daughter, Julie L. Zimmerman and her husband, Paul of York; four grandchildren, Erin Bosley, Jenna Zimmerman, Ian Younker and Stevie Younker; one great grandson, Thomas Bosley and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 10 siblings. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the York Cancer Center, Patient Help Fund, Suite 194, 25 Monument Rd, York, Pa 17403.
