Norbert E. Kokta, 79 of Red Lion died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Charles L. Persing officiating. Viewings will be from 2-4:00 PM and 7-9:00 PM Sunday and Monday at the Red Lion Chapel. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with full military rites provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born November 5, 1927 in Baltimore, MD a son of the late Frank and Mary [Klima] Kokta, he worked at the former Sherman's Sheet Metal in Baltimore. He was member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Baltimore and the American Legion. Mr. Kokta was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Kokta is survived by a brother, Robert L. Kokta of Perry Hall; five sisters, Marie A. Beech of Clayton, NJ, Evelyn Burroughs of Baltimore, Teresa P. Maxwell of Red Lion, Eleanor D. Tress of Perry Hall, and Rosalie N. Kokta of Red Lion; and several generations of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
