Nora Ellen Sowers

LEWISBERRY- Nora Ellen (Crater) Sowers, 80, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at Harrisburg Hospital. She was the wife of Earl L. Sowers. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on August 29, 2022.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Lewisberry United Methodist Church, 309 Market Street in Lewisberry, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Her pastor, The Reverend Jennett Wertz will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Tri County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street in Lewisberry is in charge of the services.

Mrs. Sowers was born in Lebanon, PA on June 13. 1942, the daughter of the late Elmer and Violet (Trout) Crater.

Mrs. Sowers was a member of Lewisberry United Methodist Church. Some of her hobbies and interests included, going to yard sales, bus trips, travel, cooking, baking, and gardening.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Sowers leaves two sons, Jeffrey D. Sowers and his wife Colleen of York Haven, and Michael A. Sowers and his wife Helen of Carlisle; three daughters, Teresa J. Sowers of New Cumberland, Julia A. Moore of Enola, and Vickie Beal of Alabama; a granddaughter, Angie Crum and her husband Brian, who was raised as a daughter; 18 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Tom McConnell and his wife Connie of Middletown and a sister, Rose Dohner and her husband Bob of Lebanon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Doug Beal and Earl Sowers, two daughters, Valerie Smith and Joyce Reimers; and a grandson, Earl Sowers.
