Niles L. Gross

Mechanicsburg—Niles L. Gross, 95, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at VibraLife Senior Living. He was the husband of Valeria R. (Hess) Gross whom he married on June 22, 1947. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry with the Rev. Gregory Sheffer officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Emanuel Cemetery. Born June 18, 1922 in Lewisberry, he was the son of the late Harvey and Blanche (Laird) Gross. He was employed in the insurance department with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for several years until his retirement. A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he was a also a Free & Accepted Mason—Eureka Lodge 302 in Mechanicsburg and a graduate of Shippensburg University, formerly State Teachers College, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Niles was also a member of Parkville Church of the Living God. He loved being outside in his garden, taking care of his home, he loved music and telling wonderful stories. Mr. Gross is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nilene L. Gross.
