YORK – Nicholas L. Weber, 93, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at WellSpan York Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Doris K. (Radel) Weber with whom he was married for 70 years.
A Celebration of Life Tribute service will be held 12:00 Noon on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2580 Mt. Rose Avenue, York with the Rev. Tab E. Cosgrove officiating. A Visitation will be held from 11 – Noon Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery with military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
Born August 15, 1929 in Enhaut, PA Mr. Weber was a son of the late Nicholas J. and Antoinette (Rehman) Weber. Mr. Weber retired as a Veterans Employment Interviewer for the Bureau of Employment Security. Nicholas was a Veteran of the United States Navy, and served during the Korean War. Mr. Weber was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was very active in his surrounding community. He held positions with many groups including; Masons York Council #21, Royal and Select Master Mason, American Legion Post 799 of Pleasureville, PA, York Royal Arch Chapter #199, York Forest #30 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, York County Shrine Club, Zembo Temple AAONMS of Harrisburg, Zembo String Band, White Rose Lodge #706 F. & A.M., and the Pennsylvania Association of Retired State Employees. Mr. Weber enjoyed spending his free time camping with his wife, and traveled across the United States to go camping.
Mr. Weber leaves behind a son, Mark E. Weber and his wife Janice of Ellijay, Georgia; a daughter, Kathleen L. Gable and her husband Gregory of York; and two grandsons, Cody L. Gable and Connor L. Gable. In addition to his wife, Mr. Weber is preceded in death by a brother, Frank Weber; and his childhood friend, Don Alleman.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
