Nelson P. Bacchiocchi

Nelson P. Bacchiocchi, 88, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Misericordia Nursing Center. He was the husband of Gloria E. (Lazzeri) Bacchiocchi to whom he was married for 64 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born March 24, 1928 in Shelton, Conn., he was a son of the late Nino and Angelina (Nosengo) Bacchiocchi. He was employed with Textron Aviation, formerly AVCO Lycoming in Stratford, CT as a experimental jet engine technician until his retirement in 1987. A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in York, he was also an avid New York Yankee’s fan. He enjoyed playing golf, pinochle, reading Zane Grey novels and was a skilled wood worker. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bacchiocchi is also survived by two daughters, Susan Hess and husband Ronald of York and Linda Delaughter and her husband, Gerry of Biloxi, MI; three grandchildren, Nicholas Robitaille and Hardy and Sarah Delaughter; and one brother, Sam Bacchiocchi of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Louie and Arthur Bacchiocchi.
