Nancy D. Walker

DOVER—Nancy D. (Stanton) Walker, 89, was ushered into God’s care surrounded by friends Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Apron Tree Personal Care Home in Spring Run. She was the wife of the late Lester A. Walker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday March 17, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Jim Fahringer. A Viewing will be held from 9:00 – 10:00AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in New Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Born October 16, 1935 in Spring Garden Township, she was the daughter of late Marcellus B. and Mary Alice (Buser) Stanton. She was a 1953 graduate of Kreutz Creek Valley High School.

She was a dedicated and caring homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and was known for her coconut cream pies. In addition to caring for her family, Mrs. Walker was also employed in the Trust Department with the former York County Nation Bank, as a babysitter, and as a secretary with First Assembly of God – York, as their church and Sunday school secretary.

Mrs. Walker is survived by two granddaughters, Melinda S. (Bailey) Kuykendall of E. Berlin and Rev. Carrie L. (Bailey) Keebaugh of Waterford; two great granddaughters, Lacy L. Kuykendall and her partner, Steven of Carlisle and Jena S. Miles and her husband, Austin of Florence, SC; six great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Richard L. Bailey and his wife, Linda of Timmonsville, SC; grandson-in-law, Ralph Kuykendall Jr., of Gettysburg; one sister, Fayne E. Hawkins of Hellam and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene S. Bailey; grandson-in-law, Sam E. Keebaugh; one brother, Howard Q. Staton and two sisters, Evelyn Stover and Virginia A. Keller.
