Nancy L. (Slaseman) Brooks

Nancy L. (Slaseman) Brooks, 86, died on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Gettysburg Center. She was the wife of the late Harry J. Brooks who died on July 30, 1997. Services for Mrs. Brooks are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on August 31, 1935 in York, she was the daughter of the late Paul Slaseman and Thelma (Lightner) Lau. Nancy was a nurse’s aide for Manor Care Dallastown until her retirement. After retiring, she worked another 10 years at the VNA. Nancy was an avid reader who enjoyed both paperbacks and her kindle. She also loved traveling to Cape May. Nancy is survived by her son, Steven L. Brooks and his wife, Linda of Thomasville; grandson, Matthew Brooks and his wife, Syri J. of Huntsville, AL; and her sister, Doris Wilkinson of York.
