Nancy L. (Runkle) Malone

York—Nancy L. (Runkle) Malone, 81, died Friday, May 30, 2014 at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clyde H. Malone. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will the Rev. John Nelsen, Chaplain at Providence Place. A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born September 11, 1931 in York, she was a daughter of the late Denton and Charlotte (Sudak) Runkle. She was employed as a billing clerk with Motor Freight Express for 20 plus years and later with Preston Trucking until her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed going for rides with her husband and attended many York Motorcycle Club functions. She also loved traveling, especially to Ocean City for Sun Fest, going on bus trips with friends and swing dancing. Mrs. Malone is survived by two daughters, Marcia A. Malone-Poff and husband, Bill of York and Diane L. Berkheimer and husband, Lee of Dover; seven grandchildren, Sherri, Aimee, Emily, Matthew, Molly, Dakota and Carson; five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Donald Runkle of York Springs and James Runkle of York and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dean H. Malone and Barry P. Malone and two brothers, William and Robert Runkle.
