YORK- Nancy L. (Black)(Kline) Metz, 83, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Country Meadows Leader Heights. She was the former wife of 25 years to Ronald L. Kline and most recently wife of Frederick E. Metz to whom she was married for 27 years.
A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Pastor Larry Parlett officiating. A viewing will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. The service will be livestreamed around 1:30 p.m. at HeffnerCare.com by searching Nancy's obituary page.
Born on July 14, 1940 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles H. and Margaret E. (Seiders) Black. Nancy was a 1958 graduate of Chambersburg High School and later attended York Vo-Tech and became an LPN. She worked at Pleasant Acres, Lutheran Home on Kelly Drive, Normandie Ridge and retired from Country Meadows Leader Heights in 2009.
Nancy was a member of Shiloh U.C.C. and became a member of Bethany Church in Red Lion, where she was a member of the Four Folds Sunday School Class and sang in both church choirs. She was also a member of Lioness Clubs in Shiloh and Stewartstown. She sang in the York Symphony Chorus, played the piano and enjoyed golfing, bike riding and walking. Most importantly, she enjoyed her time with her family.
Along with her husband, Frederick, Nancy is survived by her son, Kevin S. Kline of York; daughter, Karen S. Flaharty and her husband, Samuel of Thomasville; two stepsons, Mark Metz and his wife, Tina, Matthew Metz and step daughter, Dena Poff, all of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Amanda, Samantha, Kira and Kylie; four great grandchildren, Coraline, Stevie, Forrest, Letty and one on the way; and her brother, William C. Black of Chambersburg. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald L. Kline who died on May 11, 1989; brother, Frederick Black; sister, Janice M. Carty; and step son in law, Steven Poff

The family would like to thank the staff at Country Meadows and Lifesong Hospice for their excellence and professionalism. Their service was much appreciated.
