Nancy P. Kopp, aged 85, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Providence Place in Dover, PA. She was born on May 14, 1939, in North Belmont, NC, to the late Pastor James R. and Essie E. Parrott. Nancy was the devoted wife of the late Pastor Ronald Kopp and the mother of Kathleen E. Martinez and Deborah A. Daub.
Nancy graduated from Life Bible College in Los Angeles, California, and served alongside her husband in Macon, Georgia. Later in life she managed a storage facility in Rock Hill, SC, and after moving to York PA, she worked as an activity's assistant at a senior center. Nancy had a deep love for gospel music and, as a child, she often sang with her sister Janice at Angelus Temple, which was frequently broadcast live on the radio. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often remarking on how happy baby James was. Nancy enjoyed crafting, making bookmarks to share with others, knitting, and listening to Christian radio. Her passion included watching the birds and wildlife outside her window and thanking God for his beautiful creation. Known for her kindness and gentle spirit, she found joy in the simple things in life and will be dearly missed by all.
Nancy is survived by her grandson, AJ Martinez of Wichita, KS, and her granddaughter, Sierra Wade, her husband Jake, and their two children, James and Vera of Thornton, CO. She is also survived by her sister, Janice Dernier of Tucson, AZ, and her two daughters, Miki and her husband Danny O’Neill and Denise and her husband Jon Mathis, also from AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband Ron, her daughter Kathleen Martinez and her husband Mark, as well as Deborah Daub and her husband James and daughter Morgan.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Saturday, March 8, at 11 AM at Madison Avenue Church of the Brethren, located at 645 Madison Ave, York, PA 17404. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements.
