Nancy J. (Snyder) Runkle

RED LION- Nancy J. (Snyder) Runkle, 81, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Runkle who passed away on January 27, 2012. The couple wed on November 17, 1956 A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Dr. Christopher D. Rodkey, Pastor, officiating. A viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Blymire’s UCC Cemetery. Born on November 12, 1935 at home in Dallastown, she was a daughter of the late Austin and Beulah (Fuller) Snyder. Mrs. Runkle was a 1953 graduate of Red Lion High School and attended Temple University Nursing School. Nancy was a nursing assistant at various convalescent homes in the area over the years. Mrs. Runkle was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C. in Dallastown where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She also volunteered at Starview U.C.C. Vacation Bible School. Nancy Enjoyed puzzles bowling, square dancing and gardening. Mrs. Runkle is survived by one son, Joe Runkle and wife, Robin of Lititz; two daughters, Deborah Runkle of Manchester and Bonnie Winn and husband, Steve of Red Lion; one grandson, John Winn; and one sister, Catherine Ruhland and husband, Burnell of Seven Valleys. She was preceded in death by one sister, Lorna Flaherty; and two brothers, Austin Snyder, Jr. and Harry Snyder.
