Nancy G. (Whitt) Shively

SPRING GROVE - Nancy G. [Whitt] Shively, 66, died Thursday, July 12, 2007 at her residence. She was the loving wife of Robert D. "Dale" Shively with whom she was married for 48 years on June 14, 2007. Tribute services and burial will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born January 17, 1941 in Tazewell, VA a daughter of Leola V. [Lawson] Hamm of Beckley, West Virginia and the late Walter H. Whitt, she was a 1959 graduate of Edgewood High School. Mrs. Shively worked 15 years for Pfaltzgraff, Inc. retiring in 2002 and was active with various bowling leagues, having spent considerable time teaching youth bowling. She will be remembered as a loving wife and great mother to her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Nancy is survived by a son, Gary L. Shively of York; three daughters, Debra R. Chmiel of Newport, NC, Laura D. Forry of Jefferson, and Wendy G. Slenker of Bailey, CO; eight grandchildren, Kelly, Tessa, Lacey, Jenn, Samm, Matthew, Seth, and Sarah; a brother, Roger Whitt of Abingdon, MD; a sister, Lois J. Sturgill of Beckley, WVA; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Robert Whitt.
