WILLIAMSPORT - Mrs. Nancy E. (Diggs) Ware, 90, went to her heavely home on Saturday, November 7, 2009. She was a resident of the Roseview Center for four years. Nancy was born on August 23, 1919 to the late Olive Lucille (Harris) Diggs and Clarence A. Diggs, Sr., in Williamsport. She was a graduate of the Williamsport High School. She was employed for 26 years at J.C. Penney's. Nancy was a lifelong member of the Maple Street AME Zion Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking and word search puzzles. She was married to the late Charles "Charlie B." Ware for 26 years. From this union, there were four children; Donna O. Ware of Long Branch, NJ, Charles (Martha) Ware of Michigan City, IN and Carla Ware of Williamsport. Preceded in death by her daughter; Betty Anne "Ranni" Ware and two brothers; Clarence A. Diggs, II and George O. Diggs. In addition to her children, she is survived by one sister; Mrs. Janet Diggs Trice of Williamsport, one brother; Carl O. (Thelma) Diggs of Woodbridge, VA, six grandchildren; Kimberly Ware Foskey, Wendy M. Brown, Richard Brown, Jr., Lester (Staci) Ware, Melissa (Damon) Lyons and Myra (Joseph) Sikwata, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a public viewing from 11 a.m. to 12 (noon) on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with the funeral service beginning at 12 (noon). Burial will be later and at the convenience of the family.
