Nancy C. Arnold

NORTH YORK- Nancy C. (Gladfelter) Arnold, 84, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Manor Care Health Services North in York. She was the wife of the late Donald R. B. Arnold. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Pastor Rodney Stamper will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York. Mrs. Arnold was born in York on July 27, 1933, the daughter of the late George N. and Olive M. (Frock) Gladfelter. She retired from Central York School District, where she worked as a bus driver and as a food server. Mrs. Arnold was a devoted wife and mother. She volunteered for Central York Band, chaperoning and with band camp. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts, puzzles, and cooking. Mrs. Arnold leaves three sons, Donald E. Arnold and his wife JoAnn, Richard S. Arnold, and Michael E. Arnold, all of York; two daughters, Nan Jourdan of Delta, and Kristal Nace and her husband Dave of York; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jack and Fred Gladfelter; a sister, Sherry Heiner; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda S. Funyak; a son, Jon D. Arnold; and a brother Nelson Gladfelter. Memorial Contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
