Nancy A. (Kattenhorn) Mapes

YORK – Nancy A. (Kattenhorn) Mapes, 66, passed away Monday, January 26, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of the late Dennis M. Mapes. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 2-3:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Chapel. Born April 18, 1948 in St. Petersburg, FL a daughter of Mary (Finch) Kattenhorn of Dublin, OH and the late Wilbur P. Kattenhorn, she was the school nurse at Roundtown Elementary School in York. Mrs. Mapes had previously worked at Memorial Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. Nancy was a member of the Catholic Church and would often be found volunteering for numerous organizations. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren and loved being part of their lives and activities. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Mapes is survived by two daughters, Stacy A. and husband Ferdinand Maloney and Jenna E. Mapes both of York; two sons, Chadwick M. Mapes and his fiancé Heather Jovanelly and Ryan P. and wife Laura Mapes both of York; seven grandchildren, Maura, Corinne, and Deirdre Maloney, Jaden Jovanelly, Dominic Mapes, and Scarlette and Grayson Mapes; a brother, Chuck and wife Dee Dee Kattenhorn of Columbus; a sister, Janet Shelton of Columbus; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Arnold and a brother, Robert Kattenhorn. Memorial contributions may be made to Olivia’s House, 830 S.
