N. Alvin Grove

RED LION - N. Alvin Grove, 86, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services-Kingston Court in York. He was the husband of Marion (Becker) Grove. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on December 8, 2012. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a visitation from 2-3 p.m. Pastor Leroy Cole will be officiating at the service. Burial will be private in Red Lion Cemetery. Mr. Grove was born in Red Lion on November 2, 1926, the son of the late Sterling W. and Laura (Neiman) Grove. He retired from Barnhart Ford in Red Lion, where he worked in accounting and sales. Mr. Grove was a member of United Church of God in York. He served 53 years in the Spring Garden Band of York and was a member of the Red Lion/Felton Band. He delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling to many different states. Mr. Grove leaves three daughters, Joyce Mc Laughlin and her husband Kerry of Red Lion, Faye Hammett and her husband Tom of Chattanooga, TN, and Carol Sechrist and her husband Mark of Red Lion; and eight grandchildren.
