Myrtle M. (Spangler) Leiphart

YORK - Myrtle M. [Spangler] Leiphart, 75, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Allen R. Leiphart to whom she was married for 55 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 14, 2007 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Lawrence A. Cunnings officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born August 24, 1932 in Yoe, a daughter of the late George E. and Alma A. [Fiddler] Spangler, she was a 1950 graduate of Dallastown High School. Mrs. Leiphart had worked at the former J.E. Baker Co. prior to her marriage and more recently for Phar-Mor and worked as a greeter for Wal-Mart. She was a former Girl Scout Leader and later in life, along with her husband, enjoyed being active with the White Rose Square Dance Club. Mrs. Leiphart was also known through her cake decorating business, which she operated for numerous years. She had been a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Yoe throughout her childhood. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Leiphart is survived by a daughter, Denise A. and husband Robert Anthony of Spry; a son, Craig A. and wife Heather Leiphart of York; four grandchildren, Jillian Branyan, Hannah, Paul, and Olivia Leiphart; a brother, George Spangler of Hanover; three sisters, Lucille Sharkey of Illinois, Dorothy Strausbaugh of Red Lion, and Sara Billet of York. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 126 West Main Street, Dallastown, PA 17313.
